MeDioStar: High-Power Diode Laser Technology

MeDioStar® is a high-power diode laser system developed by Asclepion. The system is designed for use primarily in hair removal, but also in skin rejuvenation, acne treatment, and, with the use of the appropriate headpiece, in vascular applications.

Standard Monolith heads combine 808 nm and 940 nm wavelengths, high power capacity, different spot sizes, and a 360° contact skin cooling system. The system allows for the personalization of parameters according to different skin types and application areas.

Key Features of MeDioStar

  • 808 nm + 940 nm Wavelength: Monolith heads use a combination of two wavelengths.

  • Up to 5,000W of Power: The Monolith XL and some PowerLine coils have a maximum power capacity of 5,000W.

  • Frequency up to 20 Hz: The system can reach a maximum frequency of 20 Hz, depending on the coil and parameters used.

  • Spot Area Up to 10 cm²: The Monolith XL head measures 31.6 × 31.6 mm and offers a spot area of approximately 10 cm².

  • 360° Contact Skin Cooling: Monolith applicator heads feature a 360° contact cooling system to cool the epidermis and enhance application comfort.

  • SmoothPulse® Mode: Features a SmoothPulse operating mode designed for faster and more comfortable application, especially in large areas.

  • TAPER Technology: According to Asclepion UK's technical description, TAPER technology helps to distribute laser energy homogeneously across the spot area and reduce hot spots.

  • 10.1" Touchscreen: The system features a 10.1-inch LCD touchscreen that allows for easy management of application parameters.

  • Wireless Foot Pedal: The Bluetooth-connected wireless foot pedal provides the practitioner with freedom of movement during exercise.

Title Options for Different Applications

MeDioStar can be used with various Monolith and PowerLine headsets for different fields and applications.

Monolith S – 1 cm²:
It enables controlled application in small and delicate areas.

Monolith M – 1.5 cm²:
It offers ergonomic use for medium-sized spaces.

Monolith L – 3 cm²:
It enables faster work across a wider range of applications.

Monolith XL – 10 cm²:
With power up to 5,000 W and a spot area of 10 cm², it has been developed for quick application, especially on large body areas.

All monolith heads utilize 808 nm / 940 nm wavelengths and are specified by the manufacturer for hair removal, acne treatment, and skin rejuvenation applications.

VAS Head – 940 nm:
The VAS head, with a spot area of 0.12 cm², has been specifically designed for applications targeting leg veins and other selected vascular lesions.

In which applications can it be used?

The main application areas of MeDioStar, as stated by the manufacturer, are as follows:

  • Laser hair removal

  • Treatments for acne

  • Skin rejuvenation

  • Skin tightening treatments

  • Selected vascular applications with appropriate VAS head.

MeDioStar's current Asclepion brochure shows usage on different body areas such as the face, underarms, arms, back, abdomen, bikini area, and legs.

How does MeDioStar work?

In diode laser technology, light energy is absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle and converted into heat energy. The goal is to target the structures responsible for hair growth in a controlled manner while protecting the surrounding tissue as much as possible.

MeDioStar's combination of 808 nm and 940 nm wavelengths helps target different tissue depths and structures surrounding the hair follicle. Adjustable pulse duration, energy level, and different operating modes allow the treatment to be tailored to skin type, hair structure, and treatment area.

Why Choose MeDioStar?

MeDioStar is a professional system developed for fast and controlled diode laser applications, featuring a dual wavelength of 808 nm + 940 nm, power up to 5,000 W, operating frequency up to 20 Hz, spot area up to 10 cm², SmoothPulse® mode, and a 360° contact skin cooling system.

The range of handpiece sizes caters to diverse application needs, from small and delicate areas to larger body surfaces. A 10.1-inch touchscreen, the ability to connect two handpieces simultaneously, and a wireless foot pedal further enhance ease of clinical use.
